Blog / Welcome to Beantown…make that El Greco town

Posted

By Juline Thompson

The Nasher Museum education department (Juline and Julie) arrived in Boston today, and felt warmly welcomed as we got a cab at the airport. It’s always nice to see a familiar face when you are away from home.

After dropping our bags at our hotel, we took a walk to Harvard Square. On our way, we found the Pacheco Jewelry store. (Pacheco is an artist included in the El Greco to Velazquez exhibition.)

When we made it to Harvard, we easily found the huge kiosk with El Greco’s image of Santiago larger than life. (The other side features the Cotan still life.)

Tomorrow we head to the MFA to plan the K-12 school tour program. We are both looking forward to getting a sense of scale for the works that we’ve only seen in books or on screens.
