The North Carolina Museum of Art has a new website to go with its soon-to-be new digs.  The site is focused on what’s happening in the interim between the museum’s recent temporary closing and the unveiling of the new building in April 2010.

As the site notes, the new building – built by Thomas Phifer of Thomas Phifer and Partners, New York – will provide an expansive new home for the NCMA’s permanent collection.   As the  museum focuses on preparing for what will be a very big move, there is lots of packing, deinstalling, restoring, and re-installing to be done.

In the meantime, though, the museum still has a full range of public programs going on and the museum’s sculpture park remains open.  Check out their calendar for what’s coming up this fall.
