Cool Schools

By J Caldwell and Wendy Livingston

We are still smiling over Geoffrey Mock’s story about his encounter, at age 9, with Matisse’s The Pink Nude. We’re thrilled that students from all over the Triangle are creating and sharing their drawings and paintings of work by Matisse and Picasso for NBC17′s “Cool Schools” morning segment, as part of the station’s partnership with the museum.

Tune in to NBC17 today (November 15, 2012) for a rare live broadcast from the Nasher Museum galleries at 6 and 7 PM. Watch chief meteorologist Wes Hohenstein give his weather report from inside the exhibition Collecting Matisse and Modern Masters, which features paintings, sculptures and works on paper by Matisse, Picasso, van Gogh, Renoir and more.
