After Thanksgiving dinner, tune in to UNC-TV for the new art documentary, Collecting Matisse and Modern Masters: The Cone Sisters of Baltimore, based on the exhibition at the Nasher Museum. The documentary airs for the first time at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 22. Our statewide public television network filmed this documentary in amazing HDTV at the Nasher Museum, telling the story of the Cone sisters and their special connection to North Carolina.

UNC-TV Executive Producer Scott Davis treats us to the best of television, a sensitive, up-close view of masterpiece paintings, plus Picasso’s drawings and the Cone sisters’ amazing collection of lace, textiles, jewelry and more. The documentary includes an interview with Sarah Schroth, interim director and Nancy Hanks Senior Curator, who coordinated the Matisse exhibition at the Nasher Museum. The show also features art historian and author Nancy Ramage, great-great niece of the Cone sisters, and Karen Levitov, curator of exhibitions at The Jewish Museum in New York, and curator of the Matisse exhibition.
