SKETCHING IN THE GALLERIES / Saturday, July 19, 10 AM / After a quick warm-up activity, visitors can practice sketching works of art around the museum. We’ll supply the paper and drawing utensils. Pens and wet media are not permitted in the Nasher Museum galleries. Free and open to the public.

Each year, Duke’s incoming first-year class reads a book as a tool to foster community and adjust to college life. This year, the Duke-Durham community is encouraged to participate in joining the discussion of Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
Wednesday, July 16, 11 AM, and Sunday, July 20, 2 PM, at the Nasher Museum. Visitors are encouraged to read the book prior to the discussions. Americanah is available for purchase in the Nasher Museum Store. PARTNER
American Dance Festival presents
International Screendance Festival at the Nasher Museum Saturday, July 12, 2 PM Saturday, July 19, 2 PM Now in its 19th year, American Dance Festival presents the International Screendance Festival, directed and curated by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Douglas Rosenberg, along with Gitta Wigro and Kora Radella, and drawing from more than 90 submissions from 16 countries. The festival explores the ever evolving relationship between cinema and dance. Make a day of it! The free films begin at 2 PM, so make plans to spend a cool Saturday at the Nasher Museum. Brunch is served in the Nasher Museum Café starting at 11 AM, and exhibitions can be viewed throughout the day.
