Thursday, May 11, 6 PM 5:30 PM Cash bar 6 PM Artist talk: Rhys Ernst, who co-created SHE GONE ROGUE, a video in the exhibition All Matterings of Mind.
Rhys Ernst is a filmmaker and artist, originally from Chapel Hill. His work investigates transgender identity in the context of larger narratives, and seeks to develop and expand the portrayal of trans lives in media. He is a producer on Amazon’s “Transparent” and created the title sequence for the series. Upcoming Gallery Tours and Talks

Sunday, May 21, Noon-4 PM Creative collisions at the Nasher! Get inspired by places where visual art, poetry and dance intersect. The Arts in Action LEAP team will present an energetic dance performance inspired by art on view. Poetry Fox will set up his typewriter to create original poems for visitors. Watch an artist create new works of art ─ and then make your own, at activity stations throughout the museum.

Nina Chanel Abney: Royal Flush catalogue is here!
This richly illustrated, full-color catalogue is published by the Nasher Museum on the occasion of the exhibition of Nina Chanel Abney: Royal Flush. The catalogue includes many of the important and iconic works of the past 10 years by Nina Chanel Abney, one of the most provocative and iconoclastic artists working today. The catalogue is edited by curator Marshall N. Price, and features texts by Jamillah James, Curator with the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Natalie Y. Moore, a South Side bureau reporter for Chicago Public Media, WBEZ; Richard J. Powell, John Spencer Bassett Professor of Art and Art History at Duke; and Marshall N. Price, Nancy Hanks Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art with the Nasher Museum.
