Memorial Tribute for Barkley L. Hendricks at the Nasher Museum
Saturday, May 20, 2017, 2-4 PM Please join us to celebrate the life of American artist Barkley L. Hendricks. The lecture hall opens at 1:30 PM with music by the John Brown Quartet. The program includes remarks by Cynthia Brodhead, Dr. Kenneth Montague, Richard J. Powell, Trevor Schoonmaker and Teka Selman. Now on view: three paintings and three photographs by Barkley L. Hendricks. Visitors are invited to record their memories and thoughts about Barkley at a recording booth in the University Classroom.

Sunday, May 21, Noon-4 PM Creative collisions at the Nasher! Get inspired by places where visual art, poetry and dance intersect. The Arts in Action LEAP team will present an energetic dance performance inspired by art on view. Poetry Fox will set up his typewriter to create original poems for visitors. Watch an artist create new works of art ─ and then make your own, at activity stations throughout the museum.
Admission to the museum is free on Family Days. Bicyclist Appreciation Breakfast / National Bike to Work Day
May 19, 8-10 AM, Bryan Center Plaza (map) In celebration of Bike to Work Day, Duke students and employees are invited to Bryan Center Plaza to enjoy free breakfast, coffee and cycling swag. Durham Cycles will offer free bike inspections and minor on-the-spot adjustments.
