Slow Art Tour: We invite all visitors to enjoy art at a different pace. Gallery guide Meg Williams will explore two portraits by artist Sirin Neshat. Sunday August 13, 2 PM and Thursday, August 17, 6 PM Join gallery guide Carin Walsh to explore the theme "hand of the artist" and then try your own hand at an art activity at the end of the tour! We offer Highlights Tours most Thursdays (6 PM free) and Sundays (2 PM with general admission).  Bilingual Storytime at the Nasher with Durham County Library

Join museum staff and our friends from Durham County Library for our new monthly Bilingual Storytime at the Nasher. Settle into our galleries for a fun and exciting story read in Spanish by staff from Durham Public Library and then participate in a short discussion about art. Afterwards we will move into a classroom for some art-making opportunities.
This program is free for kids ages 1-5 and their adult caregivers. Groups of 8 or more must register in advance by emailing nashered@duke.edu.  Nasher Reads The Prince of Los Cocuyos

Join museum staff for a group discussion of Richard Blanco’s book, The Prince of Los Cocuyos.
The Prince of Los Cocuyos, is Duke University’s summer reading selection for the class of 2021. The Nasher Museum's Academic Focus Gallery features an installation inspired by The Prince of Cocuyos. Free with general admission. Members always get free admission. Not a member? Join today. Visitors are encouraged, but not required, to read the book prior to discussions. It is only through the process of loss that they discover what they had. This film, which won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, is the second collaboration between director Michel Gondry and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman. Complement to All Matterings of Mind.
