When their relationship sours, a couple undergoes a procedure to have each other erased from their memories. It is only through the process of loss that they discover what they had. This film, which won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, is the second collaboration between director Michel Gondry and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman.
