Save all of those holiday shipping boxes and put them to good use in the Nasher Museum’s Great Hall as we create Cardboard City II–bigger, badder, cardboardier! Last year’s Cardboard City was a blast and this year will be bigger than ever with two levels for building, more materials and students from Duke’s Pratt School of Engineering lending their expertise. Take breaks from the build with other art making opportunities, gallery explorations and live entertainment! Free Family Days at the Nasher Museum are supported by The Forest at Duke.

The Nasher Museum is proud to present artist Dario Robleto’s performative lecture,  “A Dream, As Faithful As A Flame,” a multi-media talk that considers early recordings of the human brain alongside artistic interpretations and wonderings. Robleto’s visit is supported by the Nasher’s Reflections program and a Bass Connections collaboration between the museum and the Duke Division of Geriatrics. The talk is free and open to all. Panel Discussion: “In Transit: Migration Around Europe"

Join us for a panel discussion exploring  migration around Europe, through art and history. Speakers will include James Amelang (UA Madrid), Michael Gerli (UVA), Pierre-Olivier Dittmar (EHESS, Paris), Barthélémy Toguo (artist), Sarah Razza (Guggenheim Museum) and Laura Weigert (Rutgers). This panel and a related workshop are in preparation for the Fall 2018 Incubator exhibition: In Transit: Migration Around Europe.
