I could not be more excited about this upcoming exhibition, and not just because I was involved in the process. The Human Position will contain works from the Nasher Museum’s permanent collection that have not been recently displayed and will also bring together pieces that at first appear drastically different but actually have common themes and elements.

It takes five days, a very precise laser level tool and 12 pages of instructions to build “The uncertain museum,” a walk-in installation by Olafur Eliasson. The list of materials is unusual, even by contemporary art standards: 30 aluminum poles, a large scrim about 20 feet long, wooden flooring and carpet, four motors, a lamp, three mirrored glass discs, each 30 inches in diameter, and one mirrored disc that is 39 inches in diameter.
