The Nasher Museum has acquired a beautiful sculpture of a chair, carved from a single block of marble, by Chinese conceptual artist and dissident Ai Weiwei. “The empty chair has always been a profound metaphor for Ai Weiwei,” columnist Carol Vogel writes in her weekly column, Inside Art, in today’s New York Times.
