Le Bal Miró

Le Bal Miro - 2:00 PM

In 1981, Miró designed the ballet L’Uccello Luce (Bird Light), performed for the Venice Biennale at the Fenice Theatre.   Since his first ballet project half a century earlier, Miró had kept a sketchbook, which became the inspiration for this major artistic production.   Join us for a dynamic program that will combine the elements of discussion and performance to explore the themes of artistic process and collaboration in Miró’s work.

Program participants include:

Audrey Fenske, Duke alumna (T’09), dancer and choreographer

Scott Lindroth, Vice Provost for the Arts and Professor of Music

Barbara Dickinson, Professor of the Practice, Duke Dance Program

Jade Bettin, Instructor, UNC Dramatic Arts

Marshall Price, Nancy Hanks Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Nasher Museum
