Tour with Your Tot - 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Caregivers with small children ages 0-18 months can take guided public tours of the Nasher Museum’s exhibitions. Tours are offered Thursdays at 11 AM. Tours last approximately 30 minutes. No reservations necessary. Children must be in a carrier or a stroller during the guided tour. Adults pay $5 museum admission. Museum members and tots are free.

Public Tour: Listening to the Art - 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Join Gallery Guide Ruth Caccavale for a music filled public tour of the exhibition Sound Vision: Contemporary Art from the Collection. This tour will explore how music inspires and influences an assortment of artists in the Nasher Museum’s permanent collection.

 

Public tours are free of charge to individuals, or groups of fewer than 10 people. Tours last approximately one hour.

Summer Days Nasher Nights:
Brew & View - 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Brew & View! Stroll the galleries, then relax and celebrate summer on the Rollins Terrace with a sampling of beers from Anderson Valley Brewing Company (view tasting notes). With your $5 tasting comes a special coupon for use in the Nasher Museum Café. Explore exhibitions through hands-on activities. Open to all ages. Have fun at Make and Take from June 17 through August 14, Tuesdays: 10 AM-12 PM and Thursdays: 5-7 PM.

American Dance Festival - Two Room Apartment

American Dance Festival – Two Room Apartment, 7 and 9 PM

ADF and the Nasher Museum co-present Two Room Apartment by Israeli choreographers Niv Sheinfeld & Oren Laor. Sheinfeld and Laor have recreated the seminal 1987 work Two Room Apartment, which helped make a name for Israeli dance. This award-winning work, originally created and performed by the male and female couple Nir Ben Gal and Liat Dro, has been reworked as a dance for two men. The duet reflects on their relationship as partners in life and as creators. Both personal and political, the work examines boundaries in various contexts: physical borders, such as between territories or between two rooms, but also non-physical borders, such as the one between life and performance, and the boundaries that the individual sets for himself. There will be limited chair seating available, on a first-come first-served basis, for these performances. Additional seating will be available on the floor, and audience members will also have the option of standing. Performance is approx. 50 minutes and contains nudity.  

 

The Nasher Museum is the only U.S. venue for Two Room Apartment in 2014.
