New Bicycle Tours: Downtown Durham Murals

New Bicycle Tours: Downtown Durham Murals - 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Explore the beautiful murals of downtown Durham by bicycle with tours co-organized by Preservation Durham, the Museum of Durham History and the Nasher Museum.  Approximately 13 murals will be featured, including Time Bridge by Odili Donald Odita commissioned by the Nasher Museum, at the Downtown Durham YMCA. Experienced cyclists will guide each tour, which last about 90-minutes (5 miles in length).
 
Tours run every first Saturday from May through November starting at 10 AM and departing from the Durham Central Park pavilion. Please check in 15 minutes early. Helmets required.
 
Free and open to the public. Tours are designed for anyone with a bicycle and comfortable riding on city streets. An interactive map of the tour is available via Ride With GPS.

Enjoy live music by Maria Hernandez and Steve Luteman from High Clouds and a brunch menu featuring local ingredients. Music is free for café patrons.
 
High Clouds has been playing traditional music together for over 30 years. They play waltzes, airs, swing, and New England and Southern fiddle tunes. Their music includes selections from Old Time, New England and Contra Dance tunes and music from Quebec, Russ Barenberg tunes such as “Through the Gates” and “Pleasant Beggar”, and swing tunes such as “Lady Be Good.”
