Tribute to Artist Barkley L. Hendricks - 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Join us to celebrate the life of artist and friend Barkley L. Hendricks.
April 16, 1945—April 18, 2017
Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University
2001 Campus Drive, Durham, NC 27705

American artist Barkley L. Hendricks was a great friend of the Nasher Museum. The landmark exhibition Barkley L. Hendricks: Birth of the Cool, the first career survey of his paintings, was organized at the Nasher in 2008. That exhibition traveled to four other museums around the country and brought renewed attention to Barkley’s important career. For the next nine years, Barkley and his wife Susan visited Durham so often, they became part of the Nasher family. On view now: three paintings and three photographs that are part of the Nasher Museum’s collection.
