Nasher Creates Sketching Series: “Figure Studies and Carlo Dolci” with artist Laura Frankstone - 10:15 AM to 12:15 PM
Join artist Laura Frankstone at the museum for three consecutive sketching sessions called “Figure Studies and Carlo Dolci” on November 4, 11 and 18, from 10:15 AM-12:15 PM. All are welcome! Both beginners and experienced sketchers will experiment with new inspiration from beautiful works in The Medici’s Painter: Carlo Dolci and 17th-Century Florence exhibition, as well as the museum’s permanent collection.
The group will draw in the galleries of The Medici’s Painter for the first hour, then move into a classroom to draw from a live model. The model will be nude for quick gesture drawings at the beginning of the session and then draped to suggest clothing painted by Dolci for his religious figures.
“I am very excited to be able to share my love for drawing in a new way with you,” Frankstone says. “My approach will be non-dogmatic, non-academic, lively, fun, and I think very rewarding!”
Series fee and exhibition admission: $50
