Summer Days Nasher Nights:
Book Discussion – The Museum Guard: A Novel - 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM

University Classroom

Set in the years leading up to World War II The Museum Guard: A Novel follows the story of DeFoe Russet, an orphan following in his uncle’s footsteps as museum security. Upon meeting Imogen, the lovely keeper of the Jewish Cemetary, DeFoe’s quiet museum life takes an abrupt turn as subjects of the artwork take on new meaning. The theft of a major painting throws Imogen and DeFoe’s relationship into uncertainty. The two must navigate unfamiliar social territory in an environment changing quickly with the rise of the Nazi party. This fast-paced novel is the second book in Howard Norman’s trilogy.

As part of our Summer Days Nasher Nights series, Associate Curator of Education Jessica Ruhle will lead the discussion on this novel.

Discussions of The Museum Guard will be on Wednesday, June 18, at 11 AM and repeated on Sunday, June 22 at 2 PM.
