Christian Boltanski

The Nasher Museum presents an installation of works acquired in recent years that reflect the museum's increased focus on contemporary art. This two-part exhibition opened in July with works by Christian Boltanski, Christoph Draeger, Olafur Eliasson, David Hammons, Barkley Hendricks, Paul Pfeiffer, Kara Walker and Eve Sussman, among others. On view since February 23, 2008, a second installation in the same gallery space features works by Xu Bing, William Cordova, Marlene Dumas, Dario Escobar, Hong Lei, Sol LeWitt and Ed Ruscha. The exhibition includes painting, photography, sculpture, video and installation by more than 25 artists.
In some cases, the works reflect relationships that the museum has built with artists through exhibitions here. All of the artists are living and have achieved global reputations; some are emerging and others well established. The exhibition includes a variety of media - painting, photography, sculpture, video and installation. Until now, these works have not been readily accessible to audiences in the Triangle region.
