Activity Instructions

Display Love Mom, by Beverly McIver, Ivenlaw III, by Kehinde Wiley, or Black Widow with Brothers Fighting, by Noah Davis. Discuss what this person (character) is feeling or thinking. Prompt students to provide visual evidence for their observations by asking, “What do you see that makes you say that?” As necessary, remind students of art words that may be useful in their responses.
