The Frankenthaler Dance Project will feature work by three student choreographers inspired by prints of abstract expressionist Helen Frankenthaler. Joey Rauch (’23), Emily Gershowitz (’24) and Leo Ryan (M.F.A.) will interpret works from the exhibition Helen Frankenthaler: Un Poco Màs (A Little More) through the vocabulary of movement and dance. The live performance will provide a kinetic exploration of the artist’s work and process to bring her prints, inspirations and creative choices to life in new ways.
The Frankenthaler Dance Project is made possible by the Duke University Dance Program, Embodiment Contemporary Dance, Devils en Pointe, and the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation.
