Gallery Guide Tour: Dis/orienting the View
Taiyo Kimura, Haunted by You, 2009. Video (color, sound), edition 1/8, 4:20 minutes. Collection of the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, Durham, NC. Museum purchase with funds provided by The Lori and David Arthur Fund for Asian Art, 2011.4.1. © Taiyo Kimura. Image still courtesy of the artist.
In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, join us on May 28 for a guided tour highlighting Dis/orient: Contemporary Art of the Asian Diaspora. Through works that challenge fixed ideas of place and tradition, we’ll consider how the Asian diaspora reshapes artistic narratives and expands conversations about history, community, and representation within the museum today.
Make reservations at the Nasher Café ahead of time to enjoy dinner after the tour!
