Sketching in the Galleries: Bill Fick

- This event has passed.
Explore your artistic side through our informal sketching program held in the galleries on the third Saturday of each month. This month’s session is led by local artist Bill Fick, a lecturing fellow in Duke’s Department of Art, Art History & Visual Studies. He teaches drawing, printmaking and the art of comics and zines. Outside the classroom, Fick oversees DukeCreate, a free weekly studio arts workshop series for students and staff and is co-owner of Supergraphic, a Durham print lab. The program begins with a brief drawing demonstration. Participants then move through the galleries to continue sketching and receive support from the teaching artist.
Free with general museum admission, this event is great for all experience levels! Children ages 8 and up are welcome to attend with an adult.
No registration is required. Pencils only are permissible. Sketching materials are provided, though you are welcome to bring your own.
