The Nasher didn’t exist when I was a graduate student at Duke. I am a passionate, enthusiastic supporter of the museum, which is a vital resource for students and faculty. I admire the Nasher’s diverse collection of contemporary art, with its focus on artists of African descent. I want my gift to help ensure that the Nasher remains a vibrant source of inspiration for Duke and the surrounding community and beyond—for generations to come.

Donate Now to Double Your Impact!

Rising to the challenges of this time, the Nasher Museum’s national Board of Advisors has established a $350,000 dollar-for-dollar match for the museum’s Annual Fund. This leadership match was created to inspire others to give to the museum’s Annual Fund and demonstrate our board’s commitment to the museum.

Donate now to the Nasher Museum Annual Fund through June 30, 2021, and see your gift make twice the difference! Annual Fund gifts and commitments at all levels are eligible to be matched by the Nasher Board of Advisors challenge.

For Duke alumni, Nasher Annual Fund giving also counts toward reunion class goals and is included in your comprehensive university giving totals.

At Duke, I found myself seeking more and more ways to get involved with the museum. I interned there and served on the MUSE advisory council. Having spent the better part of a decade involved in the museum, I am so proud and honored to be a part of it. The Nasher is at the forefront of programming and showcasing under-recognized artists. I can’t wait to see what the next decade looks like for the museum.

Why the Annual Fund?

The Nasher Museum needs your support to meet the financial demands of this time. By making a donation to the Annual Fund, you join the community of supporters who mean so much to us, and in doing so help the Nasher ensure the museum’s future success.

Your gift will allow us to support priority projects and respond immediately to innovative opportunities as they arise. As the most flexible support, the Annual Fund assures the museum’s ability to provide students and faculty access to the museum, enhance resources for K-12 educators, continue to expand our virtual programs and present groundbreaking, original exhibitions.

I was thrilled to walk my classmates through the Nasher’s 10th anniversary exhibition during my last reunion; we were all so pleased that Duke is now the home of a world-class arts institution. I’m also so proud that ‘our’ museum has prioritized the exhibition of works that address race, gender, class, immigration and globalization since its inception, serving as a model for diversity, equity and inclusion on campus and beyond.
