Durham artist Stacy Lynn Waddell used a branding iron on paper to make her gorgeous self-portrait, part of the museum’s collection. Get creative and make portraits at home! Try “painting” with coffee. Make beautiful colors by adding water to curry, turmeric or paprika. Use cotton balls or your fingers to paint. Learn more about her process and how to make your own portrait using non-traditional materials.

Find more fun family art activities and resources. Our Nasher Museum educators update these every Thursday.
