Welcome

We are delighted that you are planning a visit to the museum. There are many ways to make the most of your visit from slow art tours to lunch in the Cafe to gallery talks and live performances.

Once you arrive, there are a few key things to remember so that you can have the best experience possible. Listed below are some of these, but if you have further questions, please call our Front Desk at 919-684-5135.

We look forward to welcoming you here!

To Keep in Mind

Remember these easy guidelines when you enter the museum.

Food, drink and gum are not permitted in the museum’s Great Hall or exhibitions.

If you would like to dine in the Nasher Café before or after your visit, you may make a reservation online or calling the Café at 919-684-6032.

To protect the works of art and for the safety of our visitors, backpacks, over-sized bags, umbrellas and other bulky items are not permitted in the galleries. A limited number of lockers will be available to store bulky items. (Please note that the lockers require a quarter deposit in order to lock; upon leaving, make sure you retrieve your quarter!)

Inside the galleries, strollers, front-worn baby carriers, wheelchairs and walkers are permitted. Strollers and wheelchairs, including a wide-sized wheelchair, are available at the museum free of charge. Should you need to borrow one, just ask the front desk upon arrival and a staff member will retrieve one for you.

In an effort to be courteous to your fellow visitors, please refrain from using cell phones within the galleries. You are welcome to use them in the Great Hall as well as the terrace alcove.
