Artist Interview:
Bill Fick
- This event has passed.
There’s this transition between the creating of the block and the printing, then when it’s printed that’s it, it’s done. I think drawings, they never feel like they’re finished pieces for me. … I like the idea that there is a transition between the carving part and the printing and then you print it onto good paper and that’s it, it’s gone through this transformation. I really like the mechanical process. –Bill Fick, lecturing fellow in Duke’s Department of Art, Art History & Visual Studies, where he teaches drawing, printmaking, comics and zines.
Watch the video with Assistant Curator Molly Boarati’s interviewing artist Bill Fick about his printmaking practice and his work in the exhibition Graphic Pull: Contemporary Prints from the Collection.
