Multi-Sensory Highlights Tour
Adrienne Hawks works a digital scanner that, with infrared light, a depth sensor and geometry, stitches together images with shadows that help define shapes. She uses a 3D printer to create miniature sculpture models that visitors can explore with their hands, during special tours of the Nasher Museum of Art's Medieval European Art Gallery. Join Liz Peters, Museum Educator for Community Audiences, for an interactive and immersive tour of the African Gallery. Concentrating on two works within the gallery, participants will experience some of the sights, scents and sounds of West Africa as we discuss both traditional and contemporary art. Objects from the Nasher’s education collection, similar to those on display, will be available to touch and explore. This tour is perfect for audiences with vision loss, or anyone looking to experience the art in new ways, other than sight!
