Join us on Instagram Live for a virtual workshop that encourages participants to sketch and doodle based on works in the Nasher Museum collection.

Artist Kiki Farish will walk us through several works of art from the Nasher’s collection to encourage inspiration for our own drawings.

Copying and creativity seem to be polar opposites,” Kiki said, “yet hand-drawn copies can take one beyond the familiar to new forms of originality.

Works we will draw on: Firelei Baez’s Tignon for Ayda Weddo (or that which a center can not hold), African Masks and Hugo McCloud’s push pull . Paper and pencil or ballpoint pen, and perhaps a straightedge to draw formats—credit cards work!
