Art for a New Understanding: Native Voices, 1950s to Now
August 29, 2019 – January 12, 2020
In this episode of the Nasher Museum Podcast, you’re listening to Andrea Carlson (Ojibwe), an artist based in Chicago whose work is part of Art for a New Understanding: Native Voices: 1950s to Now. “Native American is not a monolithic term or culture,” she said, “but I would say that there is a really cool solidarity between Native people. … I lean in, and I pay attention to other Indigenous communities, I would say, maybe, more than people who aren’t Native.”
The Nasher Museum is fully open to the public with ongoing health and safety protocols and free admission for all, including Thursday nights and weekends. We strongly encourage all individuals to be fully vaccinated before visiting the Nasher.
