American Dance Festival and the Nasher Museum co-present Two Room Apartment by Israeli choreographers Niv Sheinfeld & Oren Laor. Sheinfeld and Laor have recreated the seminal 1987 work Two Room Apartment, which helped make a name for Israeli dance. This award-winning work, originally created and performed by the male and female couple Nir Ben Gal and Liat Dro, has been reworked as a dance for two men. The duet reflects on their relationship as partners in life and as creators. Both personal and political, the work examines boundaries in various contexts: physical borders, such as between territories or between two rooms, but also non-physical borders, such as the one between life and performance, and the boundaries that the individual sets for himself.
